Vision and Mission
Vision
A development vision aimed at the sustainable and comprehensive progress of Manjapra Grama Panchayat has been designed by focusing on the following key sectors. The objective is to build a model panchayat by integrating the resources of the local self-government institution with active public participation.
1. Agriculture and Green Economy
Agriculture is the backbone of Manjapra’s economy. Therefore, priority is given to the modernization and strengthening of the agricultural sector.
Protection of Paddy Fields and Wetlands
Promote traditional paddy cultivation and bring all fallow lands under cultivation to enhance agricultural productivity.
High-Tech Farming Practices
Expand modern agricultural methods such as drip irrigation and polyhouse farming, while providing farmers with subsidies and access to advanced machinery and equipment.
Value-Added Products
Establish small-scale processing units and Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) to manufacture value-added products from local crops such as nutmeg, coconut, banana, and pepper.
2. Infrastructure and Smart Governance
The development of basic infrastructure is essential to transform Manjapra into a modern village.
Road Network and Public Transportation
Upgrade link roads in all wards to Bitumen/BM & BC standards and ensure reliable public transportation services, including night-time connectivity to interior areas.
Digital Panchayat (e-Governance)
Make all Panchayat services fully online and facilitate the quick delivery of certificates and welfare benefits through Akshaya Centres.
Street Lighting and Public Safety
Install LED smart streetlights and CCTV surveillance systems at major junctions and internal roads to improve safety and security.
3. Waste Management and Eco-Friendly Village
Build a clean and environmentally sustainable village.
Waste-Free Manjapra
Strengthen the activities of the Haritha Karma Sena and ensure 100% collection of non-biodegradable waste from households and institutions.
Restoration of Water Resources
Rejuvenate streams, ponds, and public wells through community participation by desilting, cleaning, and maintaining them effectively.
4. Health and Quality Education
The development of human resources requires quality education and healthcare systems.
Smart Anganwadis and Schools
Upgrade government educational institutions to international standards by improving infrastructure, computer laboratories, and playground facilities.
Family Health Centre (FHC)
Organize ward-level screening camps for the early detection and prevention of lifestyle diseases.
Care for Senior Citizens
Provide day-care centres, free medicine distribution, and recreational platforms to ensure the physical and mental well-being of elderly residents.
5. Local Tourism and Employment Generation
Create employment opportunities within the village, especially for the younger generation.
Rural and Responsible Tourism
Develop farm tourism and eco-tourism initiatives centered around agricultural lands and water bodies while preserving the natural beauty of Manjapra.
Women Empowerment (Kudumbashree)
Promote the establishment of micro-enterprises, tailoring units, catering groups, and other income-generating activities through Kudumbashree to strengthen the economic security of women.
Youth Skill Development
Establish professional training centres for unemployed youth in areas such as computer coding, digital marketing, driving, electrical work, and other skill-based sectors.
The ultimate goal of this development vision is to transform Manjapra into a “Green Smart Village” where modern infrastructure and technology coexist with the preservation of agriculture and nature. The focus is on long-term, sustainable development rather than temporary or short-term interventions.
Mission
The Panchayat is committed to ensuring economic growth by modernizing the agricultural sector and promoting organic farming, value-added products, and farmer collectives. Simultaneously, it aims to strengthen the livestock sector by encouraging dairy farming, poultry farming, goat rearing, and similar enterprises, thereby creating more rural employment opportunities.
The long-term objective of the Panchayat is to improve the quality of life of its residents through the development of essential infrastructure, including safe drinking water, better roads, quality healthcare services, improved educational institutions, and digital public services.
The mission of Manjapra Grama Panchayat is to understand and respond to the needs of its people by ensuring transparent, efficient, and citizen-friendly services; promoting social justice and inclusiveness; strengthening awareness and support systems for women’s empowerment and safety; creating self-employment opportunities for youth and farmers; and implementing environmentally sustainable and cleanliness-oriented development initiatives.
Through participatory planning, effective implementation of government schemes, and the use of technology to enhance governance, the Panchayat is committed to building a progressive rural community that guarantees equal opportunities, social security, and a safe living environment for all.
